Stephanie Bloom Solo Show “It’s Not Easy Being Green” Opens in Chelsea Sept. 18 – 21
Working with wood, paint and building materials, New York artist Stephanie Bloom has created works capturing the conflict between man and his environment which may be seen in her new solo show “It’s Not Easy Being Green” taking place at Rogue Space, 508 West 26th St., 9E, in Chelsea, from Sept. 18 – 21.
Bloom, who has exhibited in Miami’s Art Basel and who took part in BWAC Outdoor Sculpture Show “Garden of Delights,” has had works shown at the Rockford Museum in Illinois and the Islip Art Museum among others.
“I don’t try to place blame in my work. I think man is part of the problem and part of the solution,” Bloom said. “One of the pieces examines how marshland has given way to homes. We need to learn how to co-exist with nature.”
Admission is free to the installation which opens Thursday Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. and continues Friday, Sept. 19 through Sunday Sept. 21 from noon to 6 p.m. For more information call (516) 578-0093.
